**Anti wrinkle injections (Botox®)**
Botox has been used for more than 10 years and treated over a million people across the world. It is a safe, effective way to alleviate wrinkle lines on the face which are created throughout our lives when we express ourselves.
When we smile, laugh, frown or squint we put extra tension on our skin using the muscles of facial expression. Over many years this in turn results in wrinkles which can make us look older.
By injecting tiny amounts of Botox® into these muscles we can help to smooth out these lines and give a more youthful looking appearance.
Your Botox treatment may take up to 14 days to work to it’s full potential, but more commonly results are seen within 7 days. This varies from patient to patient. It is a temporary treatment and effects usually last between 3-4 months unless you have it done regularly in which case it often last longer!
Unfortunately as we age our skin is broken down and thins, we loose fat volume and our bone density reduces. These are some of the factors which cause lines to form in the skin and can make us look older.
Dermal fillers offer an INSTANT fix to this problem. By injecting dermal filler into the wrinkles they firm out giving a younger looking appearance.
They are made of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural component of the skin.
Dr Nik offers treatment in the following areas
Smokers lip/Bleed lines – smokers often develop these lines and lip stick can often run down these folds.
Nose mouth lines. (nasolabial folds)
Lip enhancement – more volume into the lips with more definition.
At NDskindesign we use Juvaderm, a very popular, trusted and well known brand in our industry.
We will use a small needle and normally use either an ice pack or topical skin anesthetic to numb the area before injecting.
The treatment will last between 4 and 12 months and varies between products and patients.
